Our Resource Management (RM) team is committed to providing our client-serving professionals with relevant experiences to promote career development and growth. As a Resource Manager, you will be identifying talent with specific skill sets to build diverse teams supporting our clients. You’ll build relationships at all levels and be a trusted and strategic business advisor to our business leaders. You’ll also interact with various business functions, including finance, operations, and business development, and be a crucial piece in helping to drive our business in meeting strategic goals.

 

The opportunity

You will manage the schedules of client serving professionals within a market/location/Business Competency. Assess and match the resource needs of staff considering the experiences and skills required, personal preferences and development needs, and engagement needs. Collaborate with peers across the RM function, respective RM leaders and client-serving leadership making recommendations regarding utilization of client serving resources, alignment of resources according to the market/location/Business Competency and firm’s strategic plan. Provide deployment analysis and insights to enable business performance.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Provides staffing in accordance with deployment and quality guidelines and builds relationships and communicates continuously with client service professionals to identify personal schedule preferences and/or career development opportunities around experiences needed and skills to develop.
  • Assigns appropriate client service personnel to engagements by assessing all the information presented, reviewing options available and presenting recommendations based on deployment policies and client requirements.  Focus on engagement needs while balancing the preferences of the individual. 
  • Reviews actual and projected utilization, anticipate availability, and proactively work to decrease unassigned time while balancing the workload of all client serving professionals supported. Challenge hours and personnel scheduled as appropriate to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
  • Promotes and monitors the sharing of resources; networks with other team members within and across markets/Business Competencies, and service lines to address resource needs and/or conflicts.
  • Resolves conflicts with engagement team members to identify appropriate alternatives in a timely manner considering engagement requirements and developmental goals of professionals supported.
  • Prioritizes monthly, quarterly and annual EMQCP and ISQM quality and/or compliance activities and associated reporting as required for the specific market/Business Competency supported.  
  • Participates in market/Business Competency operations meetings and offers relevant Resource Management insights in support of business goals.
  • Proactively identifies and addresses scheduling issues (i.e., excessively high/low utilization, morale issues, performance issues, staff/engagement/client issues).
  • Regularly communicates to Leadership regarding headcount activity and any performance issues surfaced by engagement teams. 
  • Coordinates with Campus Hire Recruiters to support the onboarding process for professionals.
  • Participates in new-hire orientation and provides appropriate information about the Resource Management approach and process.
  • Coordinates with the Americas Talent Team regarding client serving personnel issues, appropriate training, development plans, etc.
  • Participates in regular market/region/service line/specialty practice and America’s conference calls and webcasts.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 plus years of experience for the Supervising Associate rank
  • Experience in a professional services firm desired


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, with emphasis on manipulating data sets in Excel inclusive of Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Some supervisory experience

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $58,900 to $106,800.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $70,600 to $121,400.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
