Join our dedicated team as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) in the Texas area, where you will play a crucial role in delivering individualized occupational therapy services to pediatric patients in the comfort of their homes. Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development and periodic revision of the plan of care
- Schedules, plans activities and provides rehabilitative services for occupational therapy
- Maintains adequate records on all patients, including summary reports. Follow agency documentation timelines as published in Employee Handbook.
- Utilizes community resources and Agency personnel for proper referral
- Selects and administers diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and materials. Submit diagnostic assessments within agency timelines as published in Employee handbook.
- Instructs and counsels other health team personnel and family members in methods of assisting patient in improving, correcting, and accepting his/her disabilities
- Supervise the COTA as follows: Follow guidelines for supervision as outlined by the Executive Council for Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners
- Attends monthly case conferences meetings and additional meetings as requested
- Participates in staff development activities and in-service education as requested
- Confirms schedule at least one week prior to the upcoming visits and adjust schedule as changes occur.
- Communicate and correspond with office staff in a timely manner.
- Notifies Agency of absences due to illness, emergency leave, normal vacation periods, or special professional meetings, which will all affect agreed services with the Agency.
- Participates with staff, patient, and physician in discharge planning activities and completes the occupational therapy discharge summary within the designated framework of the Agency policies.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Licensed and in good standing with the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners (ECPTOTE) as a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) in the state of Texas.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervised clinical experience preferred (new graduates are encouraged to apply).
