PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide coaching support to teachers which will elevate their instructional capacity to ensure a quality learning experience for students; provide instructional support to assist teachers with developing skills in the preparation of effective lesson planning, presentation of content, selection of appropriate and engaging resources, and classroom management; provide observation and feedback that will support teacher performance. Serve as a liaison between the school and the Curriculum & Instruction Department. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:
Master's degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum and Instruction preferred
Texas Administrative, Mid-Management, or Principal Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to collect, analyze, review and submit data reports to determine progress and effectiveness of program goals.
Ability to embrace the instructional coaching model and implement with fidelity
Experience:
Minimum of three years of experience as a successful classroom teacher
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Characteristics Duties and Responsibilities
Coaching and Feedback:
Conduct classroom observations and provide real-time feedback to assist in the immediate improvement of the learning environment.
Facilitate coaching conversations with teachers to promote reflection, growth, and instructional improvement.
Develop and maintain supportive relationships with teachers that lead to positive change in instructional practices and student achievement.
Facilitate collaboration amongst teaching staff through practices such as peer observations to foster a sense of community and shared learning goals.
Plan, deliver, and follow-up with meaningful professional development activities for staff based on observational data and needs.
Progress monitor teacher skill development to make data-informed decisions in coaching approach.
Maintain consistent and accurate documentation support through the approved district platform
Curriculum Implementation
Assist teachers with understanding state standards for proficiency at all grade levels and content areas. Plan, implement, and evaluate TEKS-based instructional programs with teachers and program administrators, including learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.
Collaborate with the content leader and implement practices to achieve content district goals
Collaborate with teachers to ensure the effective implementation of district curriculum and instructional materials, aligning lessons with state standards.
Lead or co-facilitate weekly planning meetings with teachers to support the development of lesson internalization.
Maintain consistent and accurate documentation of planning meetings through the approved district platform
Instructional Delivery Support:
Plan and deliver high-quality professional learning that supports teachers in adopting effective instructional strategies and engaging resources.
Model exemplary instructional practices and co-teach with educators to demonstrate effective delivery techniques.
Co-teach and model instructional strategies that ensure rigorous core instruction for all learners.
Support teachers' implementation of differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners
Classroom Management Support:
Assist teachers in establishing proactive classroom management structures that foster a positive learning environment.
Data Analysis and Progress Monitoring:
Develop and implement processes to empower teachers to analyze student data from multiple sources to make informed decisions.
Lead or co-facilitate data meetings throughout the instructional year.
Maintain consistent and accurate documentation of data meetings through the approved district platform
School/Organizational Climate:
Demonstrate high expectations of students and staff.
Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and the community.
Relate to staff, students, and parents in ways that convey equality and mutual respect.
Demonstrate skill in conflict resolution with administrators, parents, teachers, and/or the community.
Adhere to all campus, district, and department policies and procedures
Professional Development:
Participate and engage in professional development through coaching meetings, coaching cohort activities, peer observations, and coaching sessions from district leaders
Stay abreast of and implement current instructional and coaching best practices
Commit to ongoing self-improvement and professional development by actively seeking out learning opportunities, participating in relevant workshops, and engaging in reflective practices to enhance coaching effectiveness and educational expertise.
Other Responsibilities:
Comply with policies established by federal and state law, including but not limited to State Board of Education and local Board policy.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Exemptions:
This role is ineligible for certain extra-duty assignments such as, but not limited to, device coordinator, technology liaison, or HB 1416 lead due to time constraints and requirement through federal funding guidelines
