Yorktel is currently seeking an AV & Event Technician who will be based at a customer location and is responsible for supporting executive-level meetings and end users in conference rooms using Webex, Teams, Zoom, and other A/V equipment and endpoints (Cisco). This role requires a strong customer service mindset, technical troubleshooting ability, and professionalism when supporting senior executives.
The position reports to the Customer Success Manager for the client in New York City and will work closely with Yorktel departments, the customer’s IT team, and external vendors to resolve issues and ensure seamless meeting and event experiences. The AV & Event Technician will also assist in training, maintaining AV inventory and documentation, and supporting events beyond normal business hours as needed.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with users and configure VTC systems to establish connections and ensure optimal audio, video, content sharing, and recording.
Troubleshoot and isolate meeting, event, and VC issues quickly.
Perform preventative maintenance and regular room checks.
Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams (network, VTC, desktop support) to resolve issues efficiently.
Work closely with AV/IT, Desktop Support, and Engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
Meet with executives and staff to gather requirements and details for meetings and events.
Support and advise managers and staff on VTC presentations and visual media use.
Conduct user training sessions and develop documentation for end users.
Provide additional support for customer media events and webcasts.
Document, follow up, and accurately record incident history in the ticketing system.
Generate reports on workload, incidents, and projects as required.
Manage and track equipment inventory and maintain CMDB accuracy.
Create and maintain SOPs and run books related to job functions.

Leadership and Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. However, the AV & Event Technician will collaborate with the AV Tech 1, AV Tech 2, and the customer’s IT team to ensure adequate coverage and support. This role may also provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior technicians when needed.

Working knowledge of A/V, event production, and video conferencing technologies, with an interest in continuous learning.
Must demonstrate sound judgment in escalating issues and collaborating across teams.
Education & Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience supporting, troubleshooting, and installing A/V and video conferencing technologies, including:
Poly, Cisco, and other SIP/H323 endpoints
Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Teams Room devices
Zoom Rooms and Zoom Administrative Portal
Conference room controls and A/V systems (Crestron, Extron, etc.)
High school diploma or technical certification required; Bachelor’s degree a plus.
Experience providing white glove support for meetings, training, and events.

Flexibility in work schedule to support events outside standard business hours, including occasional overtime.
