Head-Royce School is looking for a highly motivated individual to lead our women’s lacrosse program. Head-Royce is a private, co-educational K-12 school located in Oakland and supports one of the best small-school athletics programs in the Bay Area.
The LAX spring season officially begins on February 9, 2026, and continues through the end of the playoffs, usually into May. There are preseason meetings and gatherings that will also occur throughout January.
Our high school teams compete in the Bay Counties League - East, the Bay Area Conference, the North Coast Section, and California Interscholastic Federation.
Successful candidates possess the passion, energy, knowledge of sport and desire to continue the tradition of our successful athletic programs. They must have the leadership and organizational skills to manage a team of driven and high-performing student-athletes and the communication skills to relate to the current generation of student-athletes, our athletics administration and families.

Note this is a part-time hourly position; no teaching position is available.
Team practices take place from roughly 3:45-5:30 four days a week (with no weekends). We host home matches on campus. We ask our coach(es) to drive school vans to away matches.
Requirements
Valid California driver's license;
CPR and 1st-Aid training (or willingness to gain proficiency);
TB clearance and fingerprints prior to coaching.
California Coaching Certification is mandated by the state for all High School coaches (for which there is a short grace period). Hourly rates vary depending on a head or assistant role.
