SUMMARY: The Corporate Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and GAAP compliance within the corporate accounting department. Perform monthly reconciliation responsibilities for month-end financial reporting.
DUTIES:
- Perform monthly reconciliation of bank statements and assigned general ledger account reconciliation
- Assist with fixed asset depreciation, financial reporting and ensure timely and accurate month-end close and reporting
- Maintain entry of policy payments, commissions and client claim receipts for our agricultural insurance departments
- Reviews, analyzes and implements process efficiencies and maintains standard operating procedures (SOP) in accordance with SOC1 compliance
- Provide department support, back-up and leadership for basic accounting functions
- Establish and cultivate a working relationship with internal staff and vendors through collaboration, communication and empathy
- Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions
- Performs additional duties as assigned and required by management
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position has no supervisor responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred; or combination of experience and education
- Associate’s Degree and 4+ years work experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate of competency and 8+ years work experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of experience in a corporate accounting setting
- Proficient with Office 365 and Enterprise One accounting software package
- Ability to work with all levels of management
