Position Summary:
Rooted in a rich railroad heritage, Hager City is one of our two factories in Wisconsin—located an hour east of Minneapolis and about 250 miles from our location in Jefferson. Over 50 dedicated associates come together to produce wet and dry coatings for our pet food brands nationwide, making this location truly special. As a Controls Technical Specialist I, you will work individually as well as in a team setting to provide controls system support for day-to-day manufacturing operations including troubleshooting electrical and controls-related issues. You will provide instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support to plant maintenance staff. You will engage in control system software/electrical changes and upgrades as well as assist in capital project implementations. You will maintain electrical drawings and participate in continuing education.
- Learn and maintain a working knowledge of Corporate Control System Standards and Guidelines
- Understand the design, programming and troubleshooting of process instruments, PLCs and HMIs
- Possess working knowledge of the tools and test equipment used for testing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining production electrical equipment, instrumentation and controls
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Know and utilize safe work practices for all voltages up to 480VAC and 600VDC
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and 3+ years of experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI systems
OR
- Associate’s Degree or Technical Degree and 1+ years of experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI systems
The approximate pay range for this position is $62,000 - $83,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
