About the Department

The full-time 12-month staff Clinical Coordinator, NMT is responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education as assigned by program director. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the clinical onboarding and evaluation of clinical effectiveness through regular site visits. Participation in College activities and committees such as recruitment, club advisor, and retention for NMT students is required. May include assignment of courses in related areas and support courses.

Travel between campuses for meetings, college activities and professional development opportunities will be required. 

Position Duties

  1. Maintains current licensures and certifications (CNMT or ARRT(N), NJDEP)
  2. Conduct on-site visits to all current clinical affiliates for evaluation of student   performance with identification and documentation of deficiencies
  3. Performs student /affiliate follow-up post-site visit in a timely manner
  4. Assists the PD with the creation and implementation of clinical remediation plans when appropriate
  5. Councils and evaluates students in all aspects of clinical experience
  6. Evaluates areas of potential NMT Program growth of clinical affiliates in collaboration with the PD
  7. Assists PD with the application, approval process and onboarding of new clinical affiliates
  8. May include teaching related clinical courses
  9. Maintains and updates clinical course syllabi and course related materials to reflect current industry standards and changes in practice
  10. Maintains standardization between current student handbook and course syllabi
  11. Actively participates in the assessment, implementation, evaluation and process improvement of the NMT program
  12. Schedules Spring and Fall clinical advisory meetings
  13. Records and distributes advisory meeting minutes
  14. Identifies and mentor’s student leadership candidates for representation in cohort and advisory meetings
  15. Collaborates with other faculty in the development of effective teaching, learning and retention strategies
  16. Contributes to the data collection and/or the generation of reports submitted to accrediting bodies and/or agencies
  17. Implements the philosophy, mission, learning outcomes, curriculum, and policies of the Division of Nursing and Health Professions and the College.
  18. Maintains all clinical related and any other required academic records that are related to the clinical experience according to published guidelines
  19. Demonstrates a student-centered culture with fairness in learning and assessment opportunities
  20. Assists in the review and selection of new course learning materials that best identifies contemporary NMT practice. 
  21. Assists in the review of admission criteria to ensure evidence-based criteria for program retention
  22. Fulfills campus-wide assigned responsibilities
  23. Participates in College governance and operations through the Division and college committees
  24. Maintains professional competence by participating in ongoing clinical practice and completing all necessary continuing education professional conferences research and writing relevant to faculty responsibilities.
  25. Works effectively with others
  26. Serves as advisor and participates in NMT club activities
  27. Participates in College and program recruitment activities such as Open House and Information sessions
  28. Manages the ordering and maintenance of dosimetry monitoring devices and reports, including report dissemination to the students
  29. Assists the PD in maintaining standards of current practice, expanding the curriculum and growing the robustness of the NMT Program in its entirety

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.
  • Certified nuclear medicine technologist by a nationally recognized certifying body
  • Knowledgeable of current nuclear medicine technology
  • Minimum of two (2) years post certification experience in nuclear medicine technology
  • Demonstrated leadership and teaching experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with variable hours, includes evenings and possible weekends.
  • Ability to travel, as needed, for College, accreditation, and clinical needs.
  • Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners
  • Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and commitment to a student-centered environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
