As a Senior Associate or Special Counsel, you’ll work closely with senior lawyers to deliver strategic and pragmatic legal advice across a diverse portfolio of personal injury and property liability matters. You’ll be involved in everything from coverage advice and dispute resolution to mentoring junior lawyers and driving business development.
This role will be based in our Melbourne CBD office on a hybrid basis. All your technology needs will be provided for.
Responsibilities:Manage complex litigated and unlitigated files
Provide coverage advice to insurers (local and London Underwriters)
Draft and review legal documents including pleadings and settlement agreements
Appear in court and settlement conferences; instruct counsel
Liaise with external stakeholders including clients, counsel, and experts
Prepare evidence and submissions
Mentor junior team members and support training initiatives
Stay current with legal developments and industry trends
Contribute to business development and uphold firm policies
Minimum 4 years post-admission experience in personal injury litigation
Public liability experience required; property defence experience ideal
Strong general litigation background
Excellent communication and drafting skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document/time management systems
Willingness to adopt AI and new technologies
Collaborative mindset and proactive attitude
High ethical standards and attention to detail
