How This Role impacts Live Oak and its People
This position will be responsible for supporting Accounting Managers in external and internal financial reporting requirements of Live Oak Banking Company, its affiliate companies, and parent company. Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, preparation of underlying financial statements and disclosures, for SEC, regulatory, and board reporting.
What You’ll Do at Live Oak
Assist with the Company’s SEC reporting processes, including preparation of 8-Ks, 10-Qs, and 10-Ks
Assist in the preparation of regulatory reporting, including FR 2900, call report, and Y9s
Assist with month, quarter, and year-end closing process, including but not limited to creating journal entries and reporting
Assist with recording, transaction monitoring, and reporting of the equity investment portfolio
Assist with preparing supporting documentation for taxes, such as state apportionment and provision
Upload and maintain the accounting platform interface for account reconciliations and month-end tasks
Promote change while helping enhance efficient and effective financial reporting processes
Support and maintain internal control over financial reporting and equity investment processes
Engage in and/or oversee special projects as required
Prepare financial schedules/workpapers that support financial statement and disclosure requirements for SEC, regulatory, and internal financial reporting
Prepare quarterly earnings presentation
Prepare journal entries to close the books (such as healthcare accrual, subsidiary flight allocation, internal use software, and equity investment entries)
Interact with members of the Accounting team and other departments at the Bank to support the creation of financial reports and/or disclosures
Maintain proper documentation as required for record retention purposes
Function as a team and understand all members of the team are vital to our collective success
Maintain a high standard of regulatory awareness including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience
Have a positive attitude and promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork
Be organized, detail-oriented and have excellent written and verbal communication skills with various levels of management
Be a self-starter, a team player, flexible and able to work on several projects simultaneously
Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Basic knowledge of financial institution operations
Preferred Experience
Proactive in project planning and execution, able to meet precise deadlines and deliver a quality product

The base pay range for this position is $55,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.Please note that we provide at least the minimum requirement of paid sick leave to our employees who reside in states that require employer-paid sick leave, including but not limited to Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.
