TRAVEL: up to 20%
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Product Manager is responsible for managing research and development activities relating to the design and development of i3 Verticals software products and qualification or re-qualification of new and existing products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gains a thorough understanding of customer needs and uses that knowledge to help deliver products that provide customers with an unparalleled experience.
 - Understand customers’ quality expectations, including issues they see in the current environment with respect to usability, reliability, security, and data integrity and define training and support requirements.
 - Monitors research as well as the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
 - Evaluates research and market analysis on industry innovations and technology platforms to recommend the best possible solution.
 - Translates business goals and end user needs as defined by the product roadmap committee into product strategy.
 - Identifies pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements.
 - Manage the product roadmap portfolio with a common approach.
 - Identifies goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually making recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings.
 - Partner with design and development teams to identify and create solutions and rank product features to meet intended customer outcomes within a specific product portfolio.
 - Communicate product feature releases and backlog items with the relevant cross-functional groups at the appropriate times.
 - Conduct end user research to help identify user stories and help determine Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
 - Partners with Finance to understand financial needs and assists in the creation of business plans for new opportunities.
 - Condenses complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders.
 - Exhibit active listening, facilitate sessions, and clearly communicate at all levels (Executive Leadership Team, vertical leaders, etc.) and in all formats the product's long-term strategy which is used to prioritize short-term action.
 - Champion the use of common source components versus building duplicate functionalities, reducing technical debt while driving new capabilities.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s degree in business, product management, or IT related field, with 10+ years of experience in a progressive functional leadership role.
 - Proven knowledge in formal business analyst, engineering or testing experience, knowledge of the Utilities industry, familiar with BI tools, certification or experience with Product Owner or Scrum Master role.
 - Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter.
 - Ability to foster teamwork and manage the work of others that may not be direct reports.
 - Effective listening, multi-tasking, negotiation, and consensus building skills.
 - Demonstrated project management skills.
 - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels in organization.
 - Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
 - Computer Skills/Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
