GDC IT Solutions is seeking a Senior WebSphere & Cloud Systems Administrator to join our team. This opportunity is remote, and is based in Columbus, OH.

As a Senior WebSphere & Cloud Systems Administrator you will be responsible for supporting enterprise-class environments with advanced expertise in WebSphere Application Server administration, cloud infrastructure management (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), and container orchestration. You will play a key role in maintaining high availability, security, and performance across multi-tier platforms, while collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable and resilient solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain WebSphere Application Servers on AIX and Linux platforms.
- Perform upgrades, patches, and resolve security vulnerabilities in WebSphere environments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application and system performance issues.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes/OpenShift in cloud and on-prem environments.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tools.
- Collaborate with development teams to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications.
- Automate tasks using shell scripts, Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
- Support SaaS products in the cloud including Adobe Enterprise and MuleSoft Cloud Integration.
- Coordinate releases and communicate deployment schedules and priorities to stakeholders.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and respond to infrastructure alerts.
- Champion best practices and participate in technical meetings throughout the development lifecycle.
- 10 years of relevant experience in enterprise systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with WebSphere, Apache, IBM HTTP Server, and IIS.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Nexis.
- Experience with monitoring tools: Splunk, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including SSO, load balancers, firewalls, and IP subnets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Azure CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of version control systems: Git, Subversion.
- Experience administering platforms like MuleSoft, RabbitMQ, Docker/Podman.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and enterprise integration techniques.
- Certifications in WebSphere, Azure, AWS, RedHat OpenShift, or related technologies.
