Facility Maintenance & Operations:
- Ensure the proper functioning of all hotel equipment, mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized engineering department, including the secure storage of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Conduct and document daily safety inspections of the building and property to ensure a safe environment for guests and employees.
- Maintain a preventive maintenance program, including a minimum of four (4) room inspections per year for each guest room.
- Keep an accurate daily log of all maintenance-related activities and equipment issues.
Emergency & Safety Preparedness:
- Be available for emergency situations and urgent maintenance needs at the property.
- Ensure all fire, life safety, and security systems are fully operational and compliant with applicable standards.
- Fully comply with OSHA, local, and state regulations regarding chemical storage, handling, and disposal.
- Safely store flammable materials and chemicals in compliance with regulatory standards.
Team & Vendor Coordination:
- Coordinate and recommend repairs and specialized maintenance work that require external contractors, obtaining quotes and overseeing quality of work.
- Work collaboratively with:
- Operations Manager for guest room and public space maintenance
- Housekeeping Supervisor for room readiness and deep cleaning schedules
- Operations Manager to ensure proper maintenance of kitchen and dining equipment
- Hire and train team of maintenance staff
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain updated records of all safety checks, preventive maintenance, inspections, and compliance certifications.
- Monitor the condition and inventory of tools, parts, and materials, placing orders as necessary.
- Ensure all equipment and systems are operated within energy-efficient and cost-effective guidelines.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of engineering or maintenance leadership experience in a hospitality or commercial setting.
- Proven hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and local building codes.
- Ability to respond to emergencies calmly and effectively, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work in physically demanding environments.
- Familiarity with property maintenance software and documentation practices.

What You’ll Do
- Oversee daily operations across all departments, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services, ensuring seamless and efficient service delivery.
- Direct the development and execution of the annual strategic plan, the annual budget, and operations plan, emphasizing balanced growth and consistent profitability.
- Communicate the direction and purpose of all initiatives, resulting in associate ownership, pride, and desired results.
- Achieve and maintain superior balanced scorecard results (revenue, STR, GOP, guest experience, colleague engagement, asset maintenance, etc.), with an unrelenting desire to exceed previous outcomes.
- Inspire and motivate your team to foster a guest-focused and results-oriented environment.
- Deliver best-in-class guest service and satisfaction by executing against the Modus Ethos, through avenues such as training, survey analysis, feedback, and incentive programs.
- Actively seek out critical information on market trends, segment behavior, and other data to make informed decisions and remain ahead of the pack.
- Create and promote learning opportunities and development plans for direct reports, fostering a culture of development.
- Champion employee engagement and promote a collaborative and inclusive environment where all employees are encouraged to speak up and their input is valued.
- Collaborate with shared services partners (marketing, revenue management, people & culture), to maximize performance and engage with companywide initiatives.
- Act as the face of Wolfe's within the Moab community, building relationships with local businesses and participating in community events.
