For our high-tech R&D center we are currently looking for a Principal Packaging Engineer (f/m/d) based in Monheim am Rhein.
Your Responsibilities
Ownership of the technical file responsibilities for medical device packaging.
Lead the preparation, review, and continuous update of supporting documents related to packaging development, validation, and compliance
Audit support
Testing and qualifying packaging according to required regulations, e.g. medical devices, medicinal products, dangerous goods / UN, …
Collaborate effectively across functions and in global teams and liaise externally with multiple development partners in the packaging industry
Develop and own expertise in a wide range packaging technologies; define and perform scientific test programs and data analysis
Participate in multidisciplinary problem solving efforts to optimize packaging design and resolve manufacturing challenges
Collaborate with Ecolab´s Marketing and Sales organization to understand the customer and business needs and translate these into new packaging designs
Your Profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in medical device and packaging with design, development, and validation of packaging solutions for medical devices.
Proven expertise in medical device regulatory standards (MDR, ISO 13485, ISO 11607).
Experience with design controls, risk management, and validation protocols.
Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills as well as self-reliant autonomous working manner
Ability to adapt quickly to new and different situations
Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ requirements
Valid EU Driving License
Fluency in English is a must
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with EU MDR transition projects or FDA submissions.
Familiarity with sustainability initiatives in medical packaging
Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, or PMP are a plus.
