We believe technology can champion deeper connections within families, strengthen bonds, and improve communication. Our family of brands provides a range of solutions that streamline daily routines, offer resources and guidance during challenging times, and help families navigate those challenges with confidence, calm, and ease.
We’re seeking an Android Engineer to join our Growth team. This team is focused on the most critical moments of the customer journey: helping families sign up, subscribe, activate, and manage their accounts in ways that maximize both user experience and business impact.
What you will accomplish:
In your first month, you’ll set up your local environment, ship your first small contribution, and learn the rhythms of our pod. You’ll get exposure to our signup, payment, and onboarding flows, while building connections with product, design, QA, and backend teammates.
By day 60, you’ll be comfortable operating within our development lifecycle from planning through production releases. You’ll contribute to experiments in the Android app, work on subscription flows, and integrate feature flags and analytics. You’ll begin designing instrumentation to ensure experiments produce clean, actionable data.
By 90 days, you’ll be an autonomous contributor, able to deliver scoped Growth features end-to-end. You’ll participate in shaping technical plans, anticipate edge cases, and take ownership of assigned flows. You’ll help balance speed of iteration with app quality and user trust.
Beyond your first few months, you’ll influence how Android participates in cross-platform signup and subscription journeys. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers to scale experimentation frameworks and AI-enabled workflows. You’ll continue to deliver improvements that drive conversion, activation, and retention for families.
Who you are:
- Confident craftsperson. You deliver high-quality code, are comfortable exploring multiple approaches, and choose pragmatic solutions.
- AI curious. You are motivated to explore AI-powered tools to accelerate development and improve workflows.
- Data-driven operator. You believe in the scientific method — hypothesize, measure, learn — and you design clean instrumentation to power reliable insights.
- Pragmatic optimizer. You embrace a bias for action. In Growth, the fastest path to good enough is often the best way forward.
- Curious collaborator. You thrive on cross-functional teamwork and embrace unexpected hurdles with an open mindset.
- Champion of inclusion. You create space for diverse voices and help guide the team toward the best solutions.
- Low ego, high integrity. You value doing what’s right over being right, and you’re comfortable course-correcting when a better path arises.
What you bring:
- 3+ years of Android development experience, building and shipping apps at scale.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Android development best practices including managing Android core components (Activities, Services, etc.) and their lifecycles
- Experience with Android app architecture patterns such as MVVM and uni-directional data flow.
- Hands-on experience with in-app purchases, subscription flows, or related payment features.
- Experience integrating feature flagging tools such as LaunchDarkly or Optimizely.
- Comfort with analytics and instrumentation frameworks (Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, Segment, etc.).
- Familiarity with Android build tools (Gradle) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with JUnit and unit testing philosophy.
- Proven experience delivering software features end-to-end within a cross-functional team environment.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with Jetpack Compose and Material theming standards
- Familiarity with deep linking and attribution for user acquisition flows.
- Experience building or optimizing cross-platform signup and subscription flows (Android, iOS, Web) to balance friction, compliance, and revenue impact.
- Exposure to cross-platform collaboration (Web, API, iOS) for consistent Growth experiments.
- Working knowledge of third-party SDK integrations (payments, analytics, feature flagging, experimentation).
