Responsibilities:
Technical Support
Priority: Essential Percent of Time: 60% Examples of this work include:
Serve as the primary technical support contact for staff and students.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Provide escalation support to district System Administrators for wired and wireless network issues.
2. Technology Installation & Maintenance
Priority: Essential Percent of Time: 20% Examples of this work include:
Install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, and applications.
Direct summer workers with installations, upgrades, and replacements.
Ensure timely updates and replacements of devices and software.
3. Instructional & Operational Support Priority: Essential Percent of Time: 10% Examples of this work include:
Assist with piloting new technology programs and provide feedback for adoption or discontinuation.
Collaborate with Library Media Specialists, Technology Coaches, and administrators to promote effective use of technology.
Support building compliance with the Responsible Use Policy (RUP).
4. Planning & Collaboration Priority: Essential Percent of Time: 10% Examples of this work include:
Participate in building technology committee discussions.
Provide input on building technology needs and recommend upgrades.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associate degree in information technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Computer hardware, software, peripherals, and troubleshooting; configuring and maintaining networked computers.
Ability: Communicate effectively (oral and written); work independently and manage multiple priorities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students; remain calm and effective in stressful situations or with frequent interruptions.
Knowledge: Windows operating systems, Chrome OS, iOS; district-supported applications; general computer operations and support practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Additional technical certifications or coursework related to information technology.
Experience: Providing technical support in a K–12 school environment; supporting educational technology tools and curriculum resources.
Ability: Support and train staff in effective technology use; adapt to rapidly changing technologies.
Knowledge: Educational applications, digital learning platforms, and responsible use policies in K–12 environments.
This position reports to: Technology Support Lead Regular contact with staff, students, administrators, and district IT staff to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure effective technology use. Requires sensitivity to individual needs and confidentiality of information.
Work involves diagnosing and resolving varied hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Problems require prioritization of multiple tasks and tactful resolution. Failure to resolve issues promptly may impact instruction and building operations.
The incumbent performs tasks under the general direction of the Technology Support Lead, with autonomy to respond to daily support needs and troubleshoot emergent issues. Non-routine or escalated issues are referred to IT leadership. All employees must comply with district procedures, policies, and applicable laws.
