Position Information:
Summary: The Prompt Engineer leads the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and decision-making across all departments. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role partners with leaders’ company-wide to translate operational challenges into scalable, secure, and innovative AI systems. The position drives continuous improvement, fosters a culture of learning, and ensures Miller Manufacturing remains at the forefront of technology-enabled growth.
AI Model Development (20%)
Build and deploy AI models to improve workflows in manufacturing, sales, marketing, administration, human resources, and accounting. Collaborate with teams to identify automation opportunities and ensure models are aligned with company needs.
Intelligent Systems Design (15%)
Develop and optimize AI-driven systems and prompts that support analytics and improve workflows, including customer interactions, employee support, and operational processes. Focus on applying existing tools rather than designing enterprise-wide solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration (15%)
Work with business units to understand operational needs and provide AI solutions that directly support daily functions. Support adoption of AI solutions at the team level rather than company-wide leadership.
Data Integration (15%)
Incorporate structured and unstructured data sources into AI models to generate insights and support decision-making.
Tool and Platform Evaluation (10%)
Leverage and apply approved AI tools, frameworks, and vector databases to address business needs. Provide feedback on tool effectiveness without primary responsibility for enterprise-level evaluation.
Training and Mentorship (10%)
Provide informal support to colleagues by sharing knowledge of AI tools and workflows. No formal training or mentorship program leadership responsibilities.
Documentation and Transparency (15%)
Maintain clear documentation of AI workflows, model architecture, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and sustainability
Knowledge, Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field.
2+ years of professional experience in AI engineering, machine learning, or data science.
Proficiency in Python with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) and data tools (pandas, NumPy, SQL).
Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, vector databases, cloud deployment, and version control/DevOps tools (Git/GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
Familiarity with MLOps, NLP model evaluation, workflow automation, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, matplotlib).
Domain knowledge in manufacturing/industrial processes helpful but not required.
Relevant certifications in cloud or AI/ML technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, TensorFlow, PyTorch) preferred+

Ability to design, deploy, and optimize AI/ML models for business applications.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Proficiency in integrating AI models with enterprise systems, workflows, and data pipelines.
Effective communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
Self-starter with attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Adaptability and commitment to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving AI/ML landscape

Full-time, Salaried, Exempt
Pay Range:
$90,000 to $115,000 Annual Base Pay
Base pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job. Please note that we do not typically hire at the top of our range.
