Job Summary
The HR Assistant will serves as the primary face of HR for Muncie employees, ensuring a welcoming and responsive HR presence. This role is critical in fostering positive employee experience and supporting both the site business and the US East HR tea. The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, and passionate about employee support. This position will be based fully onsite at our Muncie, IN facility.
Job Responsibilities
Employee Engagement & Communication
- Act as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns, escalating to the broader HR team as needed.
- Coordinate administration of annual engagement surveys, feedback sessions, and other culture-building activities.
- Support the planning and execution of other site-specific events and employee appreciation activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all employee interactions.
HR Administration
- Provide administrative support across HR functions throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Assist employees with general benefits questions and help them navigate available resources, escalating when necessary.
- Support open enrollment activities, including communications, scheduling, and employee training.
- Assist employees with their HRIS self-service changes (personal info updates, direct deposit information, etc).
- Troubleshoot employee access issues with HR systems and direct to appropriate support channels.
Talent Acquisition
- Schedule interviews, coordinate candidate communications, and support hiring managers.
- Manage new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
- Lead localized talent outreach initiatives (e.g. career fairs, student site visits, vendor coordination).
- Provide sourcing support for the US East region as needed.
Collaboration
- Ensure consistent support for off-shift teams, adjusting schedule as needed during key initiatives (e.g. engagement events, open enrollment).
- Partner with HR colleagues across the US East to ensure alignment and consistency in HR practices
- Liaise with site leadership to support Muncie-related needs and initiatives
- Perform other duties assigned by the Site Director or HR Managers.
Job Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of experience in HR, customer service, or administrative support roles, in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to articulate problems simply and effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- High level of organization and attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience in one or more HR functional areas: talent aquisition, benefits, employee communications.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorties.
