INSTRUCTOR, CERT.CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
This position coordinates the activities, assignments, scheduling, and training of clients for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program and other industry-specific programs as needed at The Academy at Goodwill, licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Private and Career Education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the career and digital skills educational instruction of students enrolled in The Academy at Goodwill, including but not limited to persons with disabilities and other special needs, that desire an opportunity to attain skills useful and necessary to getting a job, building a career, and retaining long-term employment. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
- This position will teach specified subject(s) in the medical assistant curriculum for students’ comprehension. Teach courses at a variety of times and locations, including possible evening and weekends. Travel may be necessary 10% of the time. Group instruction will take place both virtually and in-person. Review the curriculum and make useful suggestions on possible ways to improve on them to foster effective learning. Prepare detailed lecture notes on each topic to be taught, in line with acceptable standards in the institution and deliver lectures in class with authority on the given topic. This entails having a strong understanding of the topics to be taught and preparing well for lectures. This duty is performed daily, about 50% of the time.
- Maintain orderly and current client files that adhere to regulations required by the Arkansas State Board of Private and Career Education. Maintain accurate documentation of program operations and services including, but not limited to, documentation required for participant files, internal support systems, compliance, and electronic records. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
- Assist the Program Development Managers and Career Service Managers in developing classroom instruction, assessing skills attainment, and recommendations for placement of successful completers entering the workforce. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
- Maintain and properly store/secure equipment, supplies, tools associated with duties and transport equipment, supplies, and tools to assigned duties. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
- Assist with the recruitment of prospective students into the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant training program as well as the retention of current students to ensure successful credential attainment.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 2-3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience:
Certified Medical Assistant and 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Arkansas Driver's License
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Medical Assistant through American Association of Medical Assistants.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
Intermediate: Microsoft Office, Google Suite
Basic: Presentation/PowerPoint, Spreadsheet

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years classroom teaching experience; teaching in virtual settings is a plus.
- Experience teaching in a high-needs community; ie: homeless, persons with disabilities, underemployed, unemployed, previously incarcerated, etc.
- Experience working with and teaching adult learners in a post-secondary environment.
