Additional Information: Show/Hide Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains electronic and print employee resources.
Collaborates with Executive Director to administer contracts, conduct employee investigations, and develop corrective action plans.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives, workflow systems.
Monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
Communicates benefits information to employees.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Maintains logs and ensures compliance related to State and Federal reports (e.g. EEO, pay equity, STAR, OSHA, USCIS Form I-9 etc.).
Maintains FMLA records and communicates leave status information to employees.
Reports, maintains, and monitors all workers' compensation cases, including first reports of injury.
Conducts new employee onboarding and set-up (classified, certificated, administrators, unaffiliated).
Maintains teacher probation tracking lists and generates reports from HRIS and other programs.
Manage shared personnel change spreadsheet for inter-department collaboration.
Processes Time and Attendance holiday pay for eligible groups.
Processes unemployment claims and represent Orono Schools in hearings.
Researches and responds to various data requests regarding employees.
Processes annual stipends and special payments.
Directly manages job description review and revision process.
Provides direct support to supervisors in administering contracts for related employee groups.
Supports supervisors by posting open positions, screening applicants, etc.
Collaborates with Activities Director to implement of coach and advisor staffing processes and manages co-curricular and athletics staffing levels.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required.
SHRM-CP or HRCI Certification preferred.
3-5 years of successful relevant experience working in a combination of the following:
Professional office setting.
Public agency or school district office.
Human resources department.
Understand basic EEO, OSHA, FMLA, I-9, and STAR record-keeping principles and reporting systems.
Experience using eFinancePlus and Frontline systems preferred.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel.
Strong customer service skills.
Proven ability to gather and analyze information through a variety of methods.
Excellent writing skills and ability to generate effective recommendations, reports, and convey messages clearly.
Ability to work in a supportive relationship with all District employees.
Experience training others preferred.
Additional Information:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
General office environment.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple processes on an ongoing basis.
Ability to attend meetings beyond regularly scheduled hours.
Schedule: 8 hours/day - 260 days/year.
SALARY: $91,500.00 INSURANCE: $330/Month Contribution OTHER BENEFITS: 2.5% Incentive Annual TSA Match: Greater of $2,000 or 2.5% of base salary.
