ESSENTIAL BEHAVIORS, SKILLS AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN THIS POSITION: 

· Maintain up-to-date narcotic log

· Serve as surgical technologist during procedures as necessary

· Assist Center Manager in maintaining inventory count

· Communicate with dialysis facilities to monitor post-care as directed by Center Manager

· Observe all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and radiation safety monitoring policies

· Assist in moving patients within the center

· Assist in scheduling patients as directed by the Center Manager

· Answers the phone using a welcoming tone and effective customer service skills

· Participate in access center community education programs

· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to:

o Attend team meetings, phone conferences and training as needed

o Know, understand and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies and department or company procedures

o Know, understand and comply with all VSA’s clinical and business policies and procedures

· Consistent, regular and punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential responsibility of this position


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

(Education, licenses, certification and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, including computer skills as required)

· A.D.N. degree from accredited school of nursing required; B.S.N. preferred; three-year diploma from accredited diploma program may be substituted for nursing degree

· Current RN license in state of practice required

· Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience in dialysis, critical care or medical/ surgical required

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

· Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred

· Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook required; proficiency in all VSA’s computer applications required within 60 days of hire

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties and responsibilities of the position.

· Ability to read, speak and write English with clarity of expression sufficient to communicate technical and complex concepts to teammates, patients and patient’s family members in clear understandable terms required

· Ability to understand clinical/medical vocabulary written or spoken in English required


VISION REQUIREMENTS:

Vision adequate to perform essential and responsibilities of position

· Ability to pass color vision test if applicable


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical requirements can vary. Theses must be reviewed with management. However, in general, the position requires the following physical activities:

· Ability to lift minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum 35 pounds unassisted and able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, lifting and use full range body motions required to lift patients, wear lead apron and lift supplies


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

LEVEL 1- Job’s required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills or splashes. Use of appropriate personal protection measures is required for every healthcare provider in these positions.
