About the Department
In addition to being the City’s lead network expert, the role also supervises two team members: a SCADA Technician and a P25 Radio Technician. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise in municipal network environments, a solid grasp of public sector compliance requirements (CJIS, HIPAA, PCI), and leadership skills that promote cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence.
This role also supports the technology procurement process, including planning, budgeting, and managing vendor relationships for a wide range of critical infrastructure systems

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in network administration or infrastructure support.
- Minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity is preferred.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Effective communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to end users.
- Committed to staying current with evolving networking and radio technologies.
- Competencies in technical problem solving, situational analysis, customer service, team collaboration, & SLA awareness.
