Position: Promotions Manager. Hourly: $58,080.00/Salaried/Negotiable. Location: Gaming Division. Reports to: Director of Marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Establish a strategic calendar for quarterly/monthly promotions and special events at least ninety (90) days in advance with the main purpose of revenue increase as well as guest experience focus and enhancement upon the relative annual revenue and expenditure budget.
- Manage the approved monthly budget to ensure the best alignment between promotion/special event plan and the relatively approved budget.
- Design execution scheme, assigning personnels, preparing all necessary items to execute promotions and special events to increase guest interaction and attraction.
- Coordinate with gaming departments such as Slots, Table Games, Bingo, Player Development, Advertising…to design promotions, on/off property with events to promote those departments individually or the NSMCR brand generally via bi-weekly meetings.
- Coordinate with hospitality departments such as Food & Beverage, Hotel, Banquet…to acquire all supports in preparation and execution of any promotions and special events.
- Search, contact, negotiate, and finalize contracts or the “request for proposals-RFP” with any vendors, suppliers, agencies, dealerships to rent or purchase any items needed execute the promotions and special events to produce the most effective results.
- Manage and update the inventory of all items relating to the promotions and special events, including new purchases such as continuity. Also ensuring to return or clear off any left-over items under the continuity programs timely to maximize the storage spaces.
- Coordinate with Marketing Database team to build, review Pro/Post-Formas for each promotion and special events upon the designated timelines.
- Coordinate with Marketing Database team to ensure the promotional setup in any tracking/drawing/kiosk/tournament system is accurate.
- Process all paperwork for purchase, requests, orders invoices in a timely manner.
- Recruit, train, evaluate and provide ongoing support and guidance to the promotion coordinator team.
- Monitor and analyze revenue and reinvestment expenses to ensure profitability.
- Organize and oversee special events on and off-property, including but not limited to tournaments, VIP events, sponsorship and branding events.
- Collaborate with other marketing departments to organize special events, tournaments and promotions.
- Monitor the promotional plan and any movement from direct competitors to be more competitive.
- Effectively communicate and continuously improve the communication channels to disseminate the promotions to internal and external guests.
- Ensure adherence to all established rules, regulations, procedures, and policies of North Star Mohican Casino Resort and Marketing Department.
- Comply with the Casino’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy throughout employment.
- Maintain compliance with all workplace policies, procedures, ordinances and laws, including but not limited to the Employment Manual, Gaming Ordinance, State Gaming Compact, Tribal Internal Controls and departmental procedures.
- Note that the responsibilities outlined above are not exhaustive and may be adjusted based upon organizational needs or the discretion of the department director.
- Assist the Marketing Director as assigned/needed.
Qualifications & Education:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality, or a closely related field; or a combination of five years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education. A minimum of five years of related experience, including three years of leadership experience, is required in lieu of formal education.
- At least three (3) years of experience in gaming/casino marketing, promotion & event, or hospitality/customer service within a gaming environment. Familiarity with accounting principles and financial statement analysis is required.
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems; familiarity with Bally’s CMP is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and personal computers, with excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and customer relations skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Mohican Nation Gaming License, including passing a Criminal Investigation Background Check (CIB) and pre-employment drug and health screenings.
- Availability to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
Work Conditions:
- Frequent walking, sitting, and use of hands; occasional standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting to 25 pounds.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception; frequent hand movements are necessary.
- Work is performed in an office or casino setting. Noise and dust levels depend upon area/work location. The environment is smoke-free.
