Job Summary

The Associate Project Engineer provides project management skills to ensure the successful development and completion of projects within budget and on schedule. They will manage projections from conception, design, procurement, installation, and follow-up.

Compensation

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the bidding and construction of capital projects
  • Assists with the engineering phase and implementation of capital projects, including site supervision and on-site activities
  • Works with senior engineers to develop requests for proposals, bid documents, specifications, and contracts
  • Helps to evaluate construction, equipment, and service bids, and coordinates selection of successful bidders
  • Participates in technical studies, surveys, and site inspections
  • Works closely with Senior Engineer and vendors, the purchasing department, equipment suppliers, contractors, engineers, and plant personnel in the planning and execution of projects
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures and tracking actual versus budget costs
  • Participates in project meetings and monitors project schedules
  • Ensures that projects are executed safely per prevailing safety standards and company requirements
  • Writes technical reports as requiredMaintains department files for reference

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems as they arise
  • Understands engineering drawings and plans
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Solidworks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to travel as required

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
