Job Summary:

Working within a six-member Accounting Team, the Accounting Associate works directly with the Chief Financial Officer and the Accounting Manager and is a key contributor to the entire accounting cycle. This includes a mix of corporate accounting functions, project accounting, and executive level financial reporting and analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other corporate level accounting functions as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly Financial Statements, reports, and analysis of results.
  • Assist with preparing monthly invoice package containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup.
  • Assist with timesheet and expense report review and posting procedures while ensuring proper coding & expense reimbursement according to Raftelis’ Travel Policy.
  • Effectively manage the accounting for each project’s life cycle, including project opening, maintenance, and close-out procedures.
  • Perform ad hoc project analysis and for Project Managers and Executive Team as needed.
  • Effectively communicate with Project Managers and clients regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to billing.
  • Continuously monitor business practices and procedures to identify areas of improvement in a fast-growing environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field 
  • General accounting experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail oriented with ability to execute and manage many priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

    Preferences:

    • Prior experience in the professional services industry or project accounting environment
    • Experience with Deltek Vision or similar ERP system

      The salary range for the Accounting Associate position is $60k to $70k. Compensation depends on education, experience, and location.
