Job Purpose
As the IFRS Accounting Manager, you will leverage your expertise to develop the Company’s accounting policies, perform technical accounting assessments, and prepare financial statements in compliance with IFRS. This role plays a critical part in delivering accurate financial information, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across finance operations to drive alignment to IFRS standards. This individual contributor role offers the opportunity to influence financial strategy and lead a high-impact transformation project.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and lead the review of IFRS-compliant financial statements.
- Coordinate and deliver quarterly reporting packages to investors under IFRS.
- Prepare and maintain annual and half-year auditor interfirm reporting packages.
- Oversee monthly IFRS consolidation, including adjustments and reconciliations.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with external auditors and review outputs.
Technical Accounting
- Assess key accounting issues, estimates, and judgments under IFRS.
- Investigate new accounting standards and document technical positions.
- Ensure alignment of accounting policies across the portfolio with investor expectations.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve accounting queries.
- Communicate financial insights and technical updates to senior leadership and audit committee.
Process Improvement
- Review and implement best practice accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Drive automation and efficiency in financial reporting processes.
- Leverage systems and technology to enhance process and control effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
- CA and/or CPA designation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IFRS accounting and consolidation.
- High-level technical knowledge of IFRS standards (e.g., IFRS 9, 15, 16).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience leading transformational projects and change management
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Renewable Energy or Power & Utilities sectors.
- Familiarity with Sage X3 and BlackLine systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
