What you'll do    

The Instructional & Learning Experience Designer is responsible for working directly with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), fellow learning team members, and other project team members to design, develop, and deliver training and development solutions using multiple delivery mediums including, but not limited to, eLearning, video, job aids, and other related methods and techniques. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • This role is 60% Instructional Design. 30% of this role includes, but is not limited to, program development, supporting all facets of the learning team, and evaluating learning effectiveness using our LMS. 
  • Design, develop, and evaluate learning solutions including but not limited to eLearning, virtual, blended, microlearning, informal, and other solutions as needed according to department standards, processes, and best practices. 
  • Apply instructional design theories, standards, and best practices to produce effective learning solutions while maximizing quality and minimizing cost. 
  • Work closely with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, and learning consultants to learn and understand training needs. 
  • With leader support, plan, organize, and develop curricula, materials, and programs to meet specific learning needs and learning styles. 
  • Collaborate with learning team to develop needs assessments and learning program design strategies to develop programs and curricula that are responsive to current business needs, multiple skill levels, and learning theory. 
  • With leader support, develop and manage 3-4 concurrent project timelines, resources, and deliverables according to approved project plans. 
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders to evaluate and assess the success of the delivered content. 
  • Partner with all facets of the learning team to co-create engaging, learner-centered experiences that integrate multimedia, interactivity, and storytelling. 
  • Deliver engaging, impactful training sessions, both in person and virtual, to support employee development as needed. 
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness using feedback, performance data, and engagement metrics to continuously improve content and delivery. 
  • Facilitate feedback sessions with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure instructional integrity and relevance. 
  • Consistently demonstrate the 5 Canvas Behaviors: humility, empathy, accountability, resourcefulness, and tenacity.  
  • Exhibit support for the organization’s mission, vision, goals, initiatives, and cost control. 
  • Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Working knowledge of instructional design processes, adult learning theories, methods, strategies, and best practices (ADDIE, SAM). 
  • Experience in design documentation, storyboarding, sequencing content, and determining appropriate learning strategies. 
  • Proven experience managing and delivering on multiple projects and initiatives. 
  • Proven track record of implementing engaging learning programs. 
  • Demonstrates strong consultative and collaboration skills. 
  • Demonstrates excellent large and small group facilitation skills. 
  • Effective verbal, written and presentation communication skills. 
  • Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external contacts. 
  • Strong team player. 
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.  
  • Ability to maintain confidences. 

Education or Formal Training: Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, learning and development, or equivalent work experience.  

Experience: 3+ years of experience developing content for multiple delivery methods in adult learning. 

Technical Knowledge: 

  • Expertise with e-learning and video production programs such as Articulate 360, TechSmith, Camtasia Studio, Canva, and the ability to quickly learn and adopt new software technology.
  • Familiarity with photo, video, and audio editing software (Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite

Working Environment/Physical Activities 

High volume, fast-paced, dynamic office environment with some travel.  Must be able to attend meetings and events outside of regular business hours.  The job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, fax machines and filing cabinets.  The position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets.  The position requires bending, stooping, or standing as necessary.
