Job Description:

Department Overview:

This position offers an excellent opportunity for the right individual to leverage their relevant capital markets experience, analytical ability, strategic thinking and project management skills as part of the Funding team of Treasury & Balance Sheet Management (TBSM).
 
The mandate of the Funding team is to manage the Bank's capital and long-term funding programs. It executes capital and funding transactions to achieve the lowest possible cost of funds while maintaining target liquidity and funding diversification levels. The Funding team is also responsible for securitization operations in support of the various secured funding programs. The Funding team works closely with other teams within TBSM as well as numerous other groups at TD Bank including Legal, TD Securities and Finance. The Funding team also works with external advisors in completing market transactions and in acquiring market intelligence.
 
The Funding team is looking for a highly motivated individual to join a dynamic team to execute the Bank’s funding and capital strategy, which best utilizes the Bank’s assets and positions TD for future growth.
 

Job Description:

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Funding position are:

  • Develop strategy and execute funding transactions, including ABS, covered bonds, senior unsecured debt and the structuring and issuance of all types of capital instruments (subordinated debt, preferred shares, and common shares)
  • Lead the ongoing development and renewal of various programs, working with legal counsel on prospectus development/updates due to regulatory or strategic changes.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in the Funding team and communicate vision while developing and fostering a high performance and cohesive team
  • Demonstrate expertise in wholesale funding markets
  • Communicate funding strategy to other areas in the bank to ensure support and engagement
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of processes, policies, and tools to meet regulatory and compliance requirements, industry best practices and/or achieve organizational goals
  • Special projects as may be assigned

Job Requirements:

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field;
  • MBA, CFA or CPA an asset


Other Qualifications / Skills / Experience
Demonstrated experience in treasury and funding or in a similar role/experience in structuring and executing wholesale market transactions

  • Strong analytical skills and finance/accounting acumen, including experience with financial modeling
  • Effective project management skills and a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to interface effectively and build strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Strong team player that enjoys working with others and knowledge sharing
  • Proven business judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Superior communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated competency in legal agreements interpretation
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to work effectively in a multi-tasked environment, manage deadlines and adapt well to changing priorities
