Location: Hybrid, Stone , Staffordshire (Reporting to our Stone office 2 times per week)
Status: Permanent, Full Time

Why are we hiring a Product Manager?

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the product manager will help guide product(s) to success, balancing customer needs, business priorities, and technical constraints, while providing leadership and a strategic outlook that is vital for the company's growth and competitiveness.

What are you responsible for?

• Lead the product from feature concept to delivery, ensuring it meets commercial objectives and delivers value to users. 
• Identify and interpret market needs and prioritize solutions that offer the greatest impact and efficiency.
• Define and communicate a clear product vision that aligns with company goals and customer expectations.
• Engaging directly with users to understand their challenges, workflows, and goals. Use these insights to inform business and roadmap decisions. 
• Work closely with engineering, design, and other product teams to develop solutions that are viable, usable, and technically sound.
• Maintain deep knowledge of your product, its users, and how it is used. Be the go-to person for product-related insights and decisions.
• Own the product backlog and collaborate with engineering and design teams. Break down complex product requirements into actionable user stories for engineering teams. 
• Define acceptance criteria and ensure thorough understanding of technical, regulatory, and risk considerations.
• Assist in creating product messaging and materials that support expansion, go-to-market efforts, and customer engagement.
• Develop and maintain a financial model for the product that demonstrates its commercial value to the organisation in terms of expenditure and revenues over the long term (past, present and future).
• Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activity to help shape product strategy and positioning.
• Adherence to the Company’s Quality Management System to ensure that all work is handled Securely, Professionally and Diligently.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience


Product Management Expertise

• Proven experience as a product manager for technology-powered products, ideally in life sciences, healthcare, or research software.
• Demonstrated knowledge of modern product discovery and delivery practices (e.g., agile, lean, scrum methodologies).
• Ability to define and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap aligned with business and user needs.

Scientific & Domain Knowledge

• Sound understanding of in vitro assay workflows commonly used in drug discovery, including high-throughput screening (HTS), dose-response experiments, and cell-based or biochemical assays.
• Familiarity with in vitro DMPK assays such as CYP inhibition, metabolic stability, plasma protein binding, and permeability (e.g., PAMPA, Caco-2).
• Awareness of SAR (structure-activity relationship) analysis workflows and how assay data informs compound design decisions.
• Understanding of assay data management challenges, including request workflows, results capture, normalization, quality control, and data visualization/reporting.

Technical & Business Collaboration

• Experience working with or building tools such as ELNs, LIMS, or screening data analysis platforms.
• Comfortable collaborating with engineering, UX/design, and scientific teams to deliver usable and valuable solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Skilled at engaging with bench scientists, lab managers, and analysts to gather insights and validate product decisions.
• Experience supporting sales and customer-facing activities through product expertise and demonstrations.
