QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a Configuration Management Specialist to join our team at Fort Belvoir, VA to support our Product Manager Force Protection Systems (PM FPS) contract.

The Configuration Management Specialist is a critical role responsible for the comprehensive management of configuration control processes and documentation within the Automated Installation Entry Program This position ensures the integrity and traceability of system baselines, facilitates change control, and supports effective communication between stakeholders. The specialist will manage the lifecycle of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), coordinate review boards, and maintain the Configuration Management (CM) library. A strong understanding of military standards, particularly MIL-HDBK-61A, is essential.

Duties:

  • Change Proposal Management: Receive, process, and track Preliminary Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) using the AIE ECP Tracking System. Distribute ECPs for review and maintain their lifecycle within the system.
  • Engineering Review Board (ERB) Coordination: Prepare presentation materials, facilitate ERB meetings, manage action items, record attendance and meeting minutes, and submit approved changes to the Configuration Control Board (CCB). Coordinate ERB agendas with key stakeholders.
  • Configuration Database Management: Enter change requests into the AIE Change Proposal (CP) Database for tracking and review. Log all configuration actions and maintain the CM database/library.
  • Configuration Control Board (CCB) Support: Inform CCB members of updates and follow up with stakeholders to obtain necessary signatures on documents.
  • Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) Management: Receive CDRLs from the Prime Contractor, post them to the PM FPS SharePoint site for review, track due dates, and submit government responses. Create and manage the CDRL workflow of PM Personnel.
  • Performance Monitoring: Provide qualitative measurable metrics to monitor Prime Contractor CM performance.
  • Documentation & Process Maintenance: Maintain the AIE Engineer Change Control Process and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) describing the ECP Change Control Process for baseline hardware, processes, documentation, software, and training.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Notify potential stakeholders of pending change actions.
  • Library Management: Maintain the AIE CM library as the central repository for AIE CM baseline artifacts.

Required Skills & Experience:  

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, among a variety of audiences. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Configuration Management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using Configuration Management tools and databases.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Desired Experience: 

  • Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) systems.
  • Familiarity with Army acquisition processes.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of MIL-HDBK-61A (SE).
  • Experience with SharePoint administration.

Required Clearance: 

  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology) required
  • At least five (5) years of associated experience with three (3) years of experience specifically in Configuration Management.

Travel: 

Less than 10% travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.

Work Environment: 

This position will be co-located with the customer and other contractors in Government office spaces.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full‐time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours.
