AVP, RETAIL BANKING MANAGER
The Retail Banking Manager supports the Chief Retail Banking Officer in overseeing daily operation across the Retail Banking Network. This role provides a level of supervision to Branch Managers and the Branch Administration team, manages administrative functions, supports strategic initiatives, and leads assigned projects to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. This position plays a vital role in the development of our retail team members, oversight of branch production achievement, and supports Solvay Bank’s mission, vision, and values.
A bachelor’s degree in a related field, a minimum 5-10 years in branch management, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong project management skills are highly preferred.

Position Summary
The AVP, Assistant Retail Banking Manager supports the Chief Retail Banking Officer (CRBO) in overseeing daily operations across the Retail Banking Network. This role provides indirect supervision to Branch Managers and the Branch Administration team, manages administrative functions, supports strategic initiatives, and leads assigned projects to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations & Oversight
- Supervise daily branch operations, including staffing, scheduling, customer concerns, and policy exceptions.
- Maintain high standards of customer service across all branches.
- Provide in-branch support as needed to address staffing gaps, observe procedures, and offer real-time coaching.
Strategic & Administrative Support
- Assist in executing retail banking strategic initiatives and business development efforts.
- Collaborate with Small Business teammates to support branch-level growth.
- Coordinate with HR and Branch Managers on recruitment, staffing issues, and employee relations within branches.
- Partner with the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to review project-related reports and provide recommendations to the CRBO.
Policy, Risk & Compliance
- Work with the Branch Operations Specialist to develop, review, and enforce branch policies and procedures, including disaster recovery protocols.
- Review and assist in approving branch-wide communications related to regulatory updates and training.
- Collaborate with the Retail Risk and Audit Specialist to maintain consistent internal audit practices and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper branch security procedures in coordination with the Security Officer.
Training & Communication
- Facilitate training programs for retail staff on new software and procedures.
- On occasion, organize and lead monthly Branch Manager meetings to share updates and key information.
- Represent Retail Banking and Branch Administration on cross-functional project teams.
Facilities & Expansion
- Partner with the Facilities Officer to maintain branch appearance and monitor service agreements.
- Support CRBO in planning and launching new branch locations.
Other Duties
- Promote community involvement and awareness across retail branches.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the CRBO.
