This position requires flexibility to travel to jobsites around metro Detroit and to other states when projects arise. Travel and/or mileage reimbursements along with per diem will be provided when applicable. When not assigned to a job site the selected candidate will report to our Pontiac, Michigan office.

Position Summary
Lee Machinery Movers (LMM) is seeking a Site Safety Manager to lead, promote, and maintain a safe, compliant work environment. This position manages jobsite safety activities, including other Site Safety Professionals, developing site-specific safety plans, conducting inspections, implementing customer-driven requirements, and fostering a strong safety culture. While managing others, this role will also continue performing core safety functions in parallel, especially during peak workload periods or on high-priority initiatives. Candidates with experience in automotive, heavy machinery, cranes, or industrial environments are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations to ensure compliance with LMM internal standards, customer requirements, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
- Manage a team of Site Safety Professional including coaching, guiding, and delegating responsibilities to ensure consistent execution of safety protocols across the site (as needed).
- Hire and train Site Safety Professionals by collaborating with HR and leadership to evaluate and select qualified candidates (as needed).
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action plans to prevent future accidents.
- Enforce safety programs, procedures, and policies.
- Lead safety meetings, educational programs, toolbox talks, and pre-job safety requirements to ensure alignment with customer needs.
- Assist in controlling hazardous conditions by addressing unsafe working conditions and unsafe employee activities.
- Collaborate with management, contractors, and other safety professionals to ensure safety requirements are met and equipment is safe for use.
- Assist with workers' compensation claims and support project sites with safety-related needs, traveling as required.
- Coordinate and oversee emergency response and evacuation plans to ensure the safety of employees.
- Establish and monitor safety performance metrics to measure and report on safety effectiveness.
- Actively tracks Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) as a measure of total incidents to total hours worked.
- Actively tracks Loss Time Injury Frequency Rate, as a measure of lost time due to injuries or incidents.
- Actively Monitors and analyzes Experience Modification Rate (EMR) data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience as a Safety Professional, with progressive experience, working with industrial machinery installation projects or industrial construction or equivalent, relevant experience.
- OSHA 30 Hour certified (or willingness to complete within six months).
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of supporting non-traditional shifts.
- Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team, maintaining professional emotional intelligence.
