Description
Optikos is seeking an Engineering Planner to join our supply chain team. This role serves as a key liaison between engineering, supply chain, and suppliers. The Engineering planner will support engineering projects by coordinating material planning, tracking inventory, monitoring supplier orders, and helping to schedule build dates. The role will require daily use of the Syspro ERP system to manage data and ensure alignment between engineering requirements and supply chain execution.
Responsibilities:
· Work directly with Engineering Project Managers and serve as the primary interface between engineering and supply chain to ensure a timely and accurate flow of materials.
· Work with buyers to track and update material orders in Syspro.
· Monitor inventory levels and support purchasing activities to avoid shortages or delays.
· Assist in planning and scheduling build dates based on material availability and engineering project timelines.
· Work closely with buyers and/or suppliers to confirm order status, lead times, and delivery schedules.
· Support engineering teams by providing supply chain data and updates for project planning.
· Identify and escalate potential risks related to material availability, delivery, or scheduling.
· Assist in quoting activities for engineering projects.
· Contribute to process improvements that enhance coordination between Engineering and Supply Chain.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
· 0–2 years of experience in planning, supply chain, or related role (internship/co-op experience considered).
· Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems; experience with SYSPRO is a strong plus.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to communicate effectively across departments and with suppliers.
· Basic understanding of inventory management and material planning concepts.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
