The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a Facilities Technician 5 to join our team. The Facility Technician 5 is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives
Your Role in Action:
- Performs a variety of general building maintenance repairs and services.
- Completes routine requests for light bulb replacement and hanging objects such as bulletin boards, pictures, whiteboards, etc.
- Paint interior and exterior walls.
- Replace washers, faucets and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment; repairs leaky faucets and clean clogged drains.
- Performs monthly inspections and preventive maintenance of facility equipment.
- Assist in stocking, unloading and delivery of supplies.
- Assist with maintaining security of property.
- Performs regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on all heating and cooling units.
- Responsible for small appliance maintenance and repair.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
Education
- High School Diploma or General Education diploma.
Experience
- 7 years of experience required.
Other Key Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable on the Agency policy.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
• Principles and techniques of plumbing, wood finishing, painting, electricity, carpentry, air conditioning, heating and appliance repair
• Various tools, equipment and supplies used in providing comprehensive building maintenance services.
• Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
Ability to:
• Read and comprehend written material and demonstrate literacy.
• Communicate in writing.
• Converse with others.
• Perform and comprehend mathematical functions.
• Function with computer software programs and databases at a level consistent with required duties.
• Interact with staff at all levels in a positive, customer friendly manner.
