The EHS Specialist supports the implementation and continuous improvement of safety and environmental programs across the Adell and New Holstein sites. This role assists with compliance activities, conducts training, participates in incident investigations, and ensures proper documentation and reporting. The EHS Specialist serves as a hands-on resource to employees and leadership to drive a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance. Position would be based out of Adell.

Essential Functions: 

  • Support EHS compliance for the primary facility and provide periodic onsite support to secondary locations as needed.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and workplace hazard assessments; document findings and assist in corrective action follow-up.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Coordinate and deliver employee EHS training, including New Hire Orientations and monthly safety topics.
  • Maintain accurate records for trainings, inspections, audits, incident reports, and regulatory documentation within the company EHS system/database.
  • Support internal and external audits; assist with preparation, documentation, and corrective action tracking.
  • Participate in incident and near-miss investigations, assisting with root cause analysis and preventive actions.
  • Maintain SDS/chemical inventory systems and ensure accessibility at all supported sites.
  • Support safety committee meetings — schedule, document minutes, and track action items.
  • Assist with PPE inventory management and issue/distribution of required safety gear.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports (e.g., OSHA logs, environmental compliance documentation).
  • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and drills across supported locations.
  • Collaborate with corporate EHS or regional leadership on standardization and best practice implementation.

Position Requirements: 

    • Working knowledge of OSHA and general safety regulations
    • Strong communication and training skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and resolve challenges
    • Ability to engage with employees at all levels and promote a safety-first mindset
    • Comfortable working independently and traveling between locations
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with EHS documentation systems preferred
