Job Title: Corporate Tax Analyst

Overview
Supporting the tax operations of a multinational insurance group, this role reports directly to the Head of Tax Compliance and is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate corporate tax filings, supporting corporate tax reporting, and monitoring regulatory developments across a broad international footprint. The analyst will work closely with finance, legal, and operational teams across the group to ensure full compliance with applicable tax laws and contribute to strategic initiatives involving cross-border tax issues. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to interpret, apply, and explain complex tax laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Coordinate the preparation and review of corporation tax returns and related filings across the Group’s jurisdictions, working closely with local advisors and internal stakeholders across finance, treasury, and other functions as needed.
- Coordinate the preparation and review of Group level reporting requirements such as Country by Country reporting and Global Information Returns.
- Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions in line with IFRS and local GAAP, including deferred tax computations and group-level reporting requirements.
- Collaborate on transfer pricing compliance, including maintenance of contemporaneous documentation and annual filings.
- Maintain the group tax compliance calendar and ensure all filings and payments are made on time and in line with local and international regulations.
- Maintain comprehensive and organised records of all tax submissions, correspondence, and supporting documents in accordance with regulatory and internal policy requirements.
Risk Management
- Assist in identifying and mitigating tax risk exposures through data-driven analysis and business partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation relevant to the group, impact assess and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Support the implementation of tax risk management frameworks and internal control processes, including those required under regimes like the UK SAO.
- Assist in preparing responses to tax authority queries, audits, and information requests, gathering supporting documentation and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
Transactional and Advisory Support
- Support the tax compliance aspects of intercompany transactions and corporate restructuring (including mergers and acquisitions).
- Provide input into the corporate tax implications of new products, business lines, and expansion into new jurisdictions, working closely with legal, finance, and business development teams.
Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement
- Support the implementation and use of technology and automation to enhance compliance accuracy, reduce manual effort and automate routine tasks.
- Contribute to development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and process documentation for use across global entities.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of the tax compliance framework and reporting processes used across the group, including data management, reporting and compliance tools.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant professional qualification: i.e. tax certification or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Economics, or related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in corporate tax, ideally within a multinational group, insurance firm, or Big 4 advisory environment. Experience with multiple jurisdictions and cross-border transactions an advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of corporate tax principles, international corporate tax compliance, and tax reporting standards (IFRS and other standards) in multi-jurisdictional contexts.
- Familiarity with Pillar 2 Model Rules an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Power Apps) and experience with ERP and tax compliance systems.
