Assistant Operations Manager
Purpose:
Highly organized, detail oriented, team player wanted!
The Support Operation team will be led by three Assistant Operations Managers who will report to the Operations Manager. These assistants will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department and will be assigned to one of three specific areas of focus.
One assistant will supervise Shipping, and with the help of an Area Leader, focus on order fulfillment for outgoing UPS, FedEx, US Mail, and Wholesale delivery. They will also oversee the picking of stock to resupply the stores.
A second assistant will supervise Shipping, and with the help of an Area Leader, focus on order fulfillment for outgoing LTL freight and Wholesale delivery. They will oversee the picking of stock to resupply the stores and provide freight cost quotes for LTL deliveries.
The third assistant will focus on product flow in both warehouses and with the help of four Area Leaders, supervise the Receiving, Stock and Transfers teams. This leader will work to minimize the time needed to process inbound products and stock them accurately in bin locations for picking, as well as oversee the Transfer in/Transfer out processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Area Leaders and CREW who work on the two Shipping teams and the Product Flow team.
- Share in administering the warehouse employee hiring, training and development processes to increase retention and assist CREW members in achieving their goals and growing with the company.
- Actively support a positive department work environment through open communications, positive encouragement and active problem solving
- Design & implement in-depth training for onboarding seasonal and year-round new hires.
- Continually review processes to improve product flow, reduce pick times and the number of touches per product.
- Create a working environment that encourages safety, organization, and cleanliness to instill pride in the CREW.
- Oversee Employee time and attendance, scheduling, and PTO approvals.
- Work with the Area Leaders to anticipate and proactively address challenges.
- Collaborate to shift the work force as needed based on the daily needs of the department.
- Improve productivity and reduce error rate.
- Provide mentorship to their CREW and offer leadership opportunities for people to gain experience.

Required Qualifications:

- Ability to learn excel on an advanced level.
- Detailed understanding of support operations processes and HM system.
- At least one year of leadership experience.
- Warehouse or business management experience.
Working Conditions:
- Work is physically strenuous. Workers are typically required to lift heavy packages, bend, stoop, utilize ladders and/or operate heavy equipment.
- Warehouses are often blocked buildings, and some workers must walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day.
- Depending on the type of merchandise stored, warehouses are clean, well ventilated, and well lighted.
- Warehouse workers who work on loading platforms may be exposed to all kinds of weather, and those who work outdoors should wear protective clothing.
- To reduce the risk of accidents, workers are required to follow strict safety regulations.
- Warehouse workers generally work about forty hours a week. Overtime is often available at premium rates, and the work is usually steady all year.
