Job Summary:
The Environmental Intern supports the environmental services team in assessments, permitting, compliance, and sustainability projects. The role provides exposure to environmental regulations, impact analysis, and project documentation under the guidance of environmental professionals.
Primary Essential Functions:
- Assist in preparing environmental reports, assessments, and permit applications.
- Conduct research and gather data on environmental impacts and compliance requirements.
- Support fieldwork activities such as sampling, site inspections, or surveys.
- Assist in developing sustainability and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on environmental components of projects.
Secondary Essential Functions:
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues including cross-functional teams, peers, direct reports, and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Knowledge
- Basic understanding of environmental science, engineering, or planning.
- Awareness of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Familiarity with GIS or related tools.

Abilities
- Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:
Required
- Current enrollment in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related program.
- Strong academic performance in environmental coursework.
- Basic knowledge of environmental regulations.
Preferred
- Internship, co-op, or research experience in environmental projects.
- Familiarity with GIS or environmental modeling tools.
- Participation in environmental or sustainability organizations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
- Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers.
- Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to 25 lbs.).
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
