About the Position
The Legal Recruiting Manager plays a critical role in advancing the firm’s strategic talent initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Recruiting Officer, this position is responsible for managing law student recruitment, overseeing the summer associate program, and strengthening the firm’s relationships with key law schools. This position is currently a hybrid role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Law Student Recruiting
- Partner with the Chief Recruiting Officer to develop and implement recruiting strategies at target law schools
- Provide leadership and supervise junior team members, as well as other support staff indirectly
- Drive efforts to increase firm visibility at target law schools
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with law school career services offices
- Lead law school hiring efforts, including overall strategy, registration, callback and offer/follow-up process
- Oversee the interview process, candidate communications, and database management for student recruiting
- Manage the firmwide summer associate program, including budget, events, training, work assignments, and evaluations
Other
- Work with the Chief Recruiting Officer on strategic projects as needed
- Keep up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in legal recruitment and leverage insights and market intelligence to adapt the firm’s student recruiting strategy
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years of law firm recruiting or related campus recruiting experience
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of campus/student recruiting programs
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients
- Team player who is committed to superior standards of professionalism and productivity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Capacity to work well under pressure
- Discretion in dealing with confidential information
- Detail-oriented work manner, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive and flexible approach, and willingness to adjust to changing priorities
- Flexibility to occasionally travel outside of the Southern California area, attend events, and to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines and business needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Experience with ViRecruit, FloRecruit and Symplicity is preferred

Compensation
Allen Matkins is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a competitive compensation & benefits package. The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $160,000.00- $185,000.00 per year. Actual salary will depend upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and location.
The base salary range displayed on the job posting reflects the estimated range for new hire salaries for the position. The actual offered base salary will be determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills and qualifications. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external business factors.
