PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the Application Developer II position on the Banner Student Information Systems team is to design, develop, maintain, and enhance application programs and integrations that support the University of South Florida’s Banner ERP system. This role ensures the reliability and efficiency of critical business processes by collaborating with stakeholders, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions that align with institutional goals and compliance requirements. The position plays a key role in supporting system upgrades, data integrity, and initiatives to improve operational effectiveness across the university.

Responsibilities
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
- Develop and maintain application programs and software modifications for Banner ERP modules
- Analyze user system and application needs for Banner
- Determine and evaluate potential solutions, develop system specifications and requirements, and design application programs.
- Generate technical and functional documentation for Banner modules, integrations, and customizations
- Collaborate with other IT teams and external vendors for Banner upgrades, defect reviews, and other projects
- Participate in system enhancements, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training and two years of IT related work experience; or a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and three years of IT related work experience, OR a Master's degree and one year of IT related work experience, OR a combination of six years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification is considered to be related training.
