Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of the senior staff team to develop and implement the classroom and field training curriculum for new trainees.
- Oversee the development of 1-2 entry-level organizers. Conduct weekly planning meetings and periodic site visits and provide ongoing feedback and evaluations.
- Serve as a trainer for 8 weeks of classroom training. Run training sessions on grassroots organizing skills and strategies.
- Manage 3-5 short term field campaigns each year. Serve as a liaison and consultant to our environmental partner organizations, assist in campaign development and strategy, coordinate conference calls with partner organizations, and track and evaluate progress.
- Recruit applicants for Green Corps by conducting online and campus recruitment outreach efforts. Oversee a team of recruiters and conduct phone and in-person interviews to help select the incoming class of organizers.
- Participate in organizational fundraising efforts by conducting major donor meetings, writing letters, and coordinating fundraising events.
- Run a grassroots campaign office in the summer to raise money to support our campaigns, build our organization and membership, and help build critical and timely grassroots support to win key campaigns while honing your organizing and management skills. You may be assigned to a different office location for the summer and should be flexible to move.
- This position requires exercising discretion and independent judgment in making decisions in matters of significance.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to environmental and social change.
- At least one year of full-time non-profit experience, with a proven track record in grassroots activism and volunteer and staff management.
- Strong staff and program management skills; proven ability to work within a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to tell a compelling story and connect with people is a must.
- Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates must be willing to travel extensively and move multiple times throughout the year.
