About the role
MSS Security is seeking a dedicated Control Room Operator to join the team at the Security Operations Centre in Monash University, working in a technically advanced environment. Supporting multiple Monash sites and a security team of 130 officers, this role goes beyond standard monitoring.
You will be involved in real-time incident response, investigations, and direct communication with emergency services and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, monitoring security systems, compiling reports, and ensuring compliance with site policies.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong understanding of various CCTV, access control systems and investigation report writing.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Monitor CCTV systems and alarms to ensure constant surveillance and early detection of any security risks.
Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, escalating issues as required.
Collaborate with emergency services to coordinate responses to incidents.
Regularly test and maintain security systems to ensure they are fully operational.
Provide clear and concise communication.
Ideal candidates will have:
Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in using Milestone CCTV, Inner Range/Infiniti Security System and resolver reporting system would be preferable.
Proven experience working in a security control room and as a security officer.
Requirements:
Full Australian working rights.
Availability to work a rotating 24/7 roster.
Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations.
Valid Victorian Security licence with control room subcategory.
Working with children check (or willing to obtain).
Valid First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain).
Full Victorian Drivers licence.
