The Senior Vice President, Strategy & Government Lending will play a critical role in establishing and executing the strategic vision for Peachtree Group’s Government Lending platform. Reporting to the EVP of Business Development, this leader will oversee loan originations, underwriting, and portfolio growth while ensuring compliance with federal and agency requirements. The SVP will combine deep industry expertise with a forward-looking approach to expand lending capabilities and support the firm’s long-term growth strategy.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the strategic plan for the Government Lending vertical, including USDA, SBA 7(a), SBA 504, and other future programs.
  • Drive loan originations and oversee underwriting activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and risk management standards.
  • Review financial statements, evaluate credit risk, and determine borrower eligibility in compliance with government program requirements.
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to build a robust pipeline of government lending opportunities.
  • Establish operational processes, policies, and best practices to support scalable growth in the new lending platform.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and agency guidelines.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership on market trends, competitive positioning, and program expansion.
  • Mentor and develop team members as the vertical grows, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial lending, with significant expertise in government-backed loan programs (USDA, SBA 7(a), SBA 504).
  • Proven track record of successfully originating, underwriting, and closing government-backed loans.
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale new business lines or lending platforms.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically in a fast-paced environment.
