This is a professional training position with responsibility for development and delivery of training activities for child welfare professionals such as case managers, Kids Central Inc. employees and employees of the system of care network providers. Effective performance requires a high degree of independent judgment and action under minimal guidance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationship with KCI customers
- Assess child welfare training strengths and needs for development of training schedules
- Provide pre-service training to case managers and all other trainees
- Provides pre-service training to potential foster and adoptive (resource) parents
- Provide in-service training and community presentations
- Achieves and maintains specialty trainer certifications determined by Director
- Develop expertise on training related technology, techniques and presentation media

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelors’ degree in social services or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum one-year experience in training capacity or two years experience in the social services field. Requires Child Welfare Certification
Licenses & Certifications:
Possess a current Background Clearance Screening Letter as required by Florida Statute and DCF. Possess a valid Florida driver’s license and be insurable by the agency’s current insurance carrier.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to meet required Organizational Core Competency Standards.
- Must be able to organize and track large amounts of information.
- Must be comfortable delivering training and facilitating meetings.
- Should enjoy conversations with others and be able to develop strong interpersonal relationships with leadership, staff, and outside trainers.
- Must have a strong and proven working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint to include the complete Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have strong writing skills to prepare curriculum and other training materials.
- Should have exposure to a wide variety of training methods, including online or computer-based training.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and travel up to 60% to include evenings and weekends.
Must carry personal smart phone with voice and text plan for business communications during and outside business hours
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
May be asked to be in front of a group for extended periods of time delivering training. It may require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly, stand, kneel, bend, sit and walk while facilitating and setting up training sessions.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Works in a professional office environment with frequent visits to external environments that require driving to and from various locations
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Supervision is provided by the Director of Professional Development in the form of one-on-one supervision and regular team meetings. General guidelines and policies and procedures form the basis for performance monitoring.
