The family-friendly terrain at Saskadena Six Ski Area sets the tone for a classic winter ski day in the mountains, with gentle terrain perfectly suited for beginners. Saskadena Six welcomes both skiers and snowboarders to its downhill slopes and a terrain park. There are 2 lifts servicing 28 trails ー 30% rated as beginner terrain, 40% as intermediate and 30% as advanced ー with the longest run spanning a distance of 5,280 feet. Rentals, repairs, lessons and a cozy base lodge are all available on-site.
Job Summary:
Ski Patrollers are responsible for promoting the safety of guests and staff on the mountain. Ski Patrollers are alert and dependable professionals focused on promoting safety with the ability to remain calm under any situation.
Job Specifications:
- Expected Pay Range: starting $18.00 per hour
- The pay scale shown is the range that we reasonably expect to pay. Actual compensation offered may be adjusted based on a candidate’s qualifications and/or experience.
- Shift & Schedule Availability: Full time seasonal positions available
- 20-40 hours per week
- Wednesday – Sunday and must be available to work weekends and holidays
Job Responsibilities:
- Follow and ensure others follow resort safety rules.
- Administer first aid and transportation appropriately and when necessary.
- Smooth handling of toboggans and proper execution of lift evacuation.
- Check and report on trial conditions. Perform trail checks, trail openings and closings in an efficient and safe manner.
- Perform trail maintenance tasks.
- Complete Incident Reports in a timely manner and review for completeness and thoroughness.
- Coordinate first aid responses. Monitor rescue calls and responses.
- Review daily logs for completeness.
- Identify injured, out-of-control, or reckless skiers and snowboarders and respond appropriately. Perform skier education and assist guests with resort information
- Identify and mitigate hazards in a timely manner.
- Patrol within assigned areas.
- Transportation of toboggans and equipment up chairlifts to assigned stations.
- Adapt to variable weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring safety under all circumstances.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in skiing and riding across all trails.
- Fluency in English and excellent communication skills, especially in potentially stressful situations.
- Capacity to stay calm and focused under pressure, ensuring efficient response to emergencies.
- Ability to educate and inform guests about safety procedures and risk management.
- Current certifications in CPR, AED, or First Aid.
- Must be able to lift and ski with 50+ pounds.
- Must be able to work in all winter weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid drivers’ license & clean driving record.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
