The Data & Analytics Manager leads a small, cross-functional data team, working hands-on alongside team members to deliver and support the organization’s data solutions. This role manages the full data estate—including data architecture, business intelligence, analytics, AI enablement, and database administration—while actively contributing to technical design and implementation. The manager partners with IT, business units, and leadership to ensure data is available, secure, and actionable, supporting business goals and continuous improvement. In addition to day-to-day technical work, the position helps shape the organization’s data strategy, drives adoption of modern analytics tools, and fosters a collaborative, innovative environment where data is used to solve business challenges and inform decision-making.

 

The Exponential Technology Group (XTG) is a specialist in the electronic component distribution and design engineering services industries. The ideal candidate will be located in either the Denver, CO or DFW, TX metro areas; for the right candidate, this position may be remote.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leadership & Strategy: 

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data professionals (DBAs, analysts, engineers).
- Contribute directly to technical design, development, and delivery.
- Define and execute the vision for the data estate, aligning with business goals and technology strategy.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability.

 Data Estate Management:
- Oversee architecture, integration, and maintenance of enterprise data platforms.
- Ensure data availability, quality, security, and scalability across all systems.
- Implement and enforce data governance policies and best practices.

 Analytics, BI & AI Enablement:
- Deliver actionable insights through dashboards, reports, and advanced analytics.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements.
- Support development and deployment of AI/ML models as part of the analytics stack.
- Promote self-service analytics and empower users with intuitive data tools.

 Database Administration:
- Manage traditional database environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
- Oversee backup, recovery, patching, and optimization processes.
- Support legacy systems and guide modernization efforts.

 Collaboration & Communication:
- Partner with IT, business units, and executive leadership to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Advocate for data literacy and drive adoption of data tools across the organization.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.  5+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or BI, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

 

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing small, agile teams and delivering enterprise-grade data solutions.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and relational/non-relational databases.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and data platforms (Azure, AWS, Snowflake).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric for data integration, analytics, and governance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools and services, including SharePoint, Teams, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technology stack (Azure Data Services, Power Platform, Dynamics 365).
  • Experience with AI/ML concepts and tools (Python, Azure ML, Databricks).
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.

Total Annual Compensation: $125,000 - $155,000/year.  Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.

This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
