We need a Recruiter – Driver & Production to help with sourcing, attracting, and hiring qualified CDL Delivery Professionals for Delta Industries’ ready-mix operations.


This role also coordinates onboarding schedules, tracks driver training progress, and monitors coaching to ensure new hires succeed in their first year. The Driver Recruiter partners closely with HR, Safety, and Operations to maintain compliance, improve retention, and strengthen Delta’s reputation as an employer of choice in the ready-mix industry. This position requires the ability to travel approximately 20% of the time to plants, job fairs, CDL schools, and community events.


Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Outreach

  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies to maintain a steady pipeline of CDL drivers.
  • Promote Delta’s driver value proposition (home daily, competitive pay, safe fleet, family culture).
  • Source candidates through job boards, CDL schools, social media, community events, and referrals.
  • Travel to plants, job fairs, and community partners (~20%) to support recruitment efforts.

Candidate Screening & Compliance

  • Screen applicants for CDL qualifications, MVR, DOT physicals, and Worksaver/drug test compliance.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements with HR and Safety.
  • Ensure recruiting practices align with DOT/FMCSA and company policies.

Onboarding & Training Coordination

  • Create and manage onboarding schedules for new drivers.
  • Track progress of drivers through Delta Academy and other training modules.
  • Monitor driver coaching sessions, ensuring performance issues are addressed quickly.
  • Serve as liaison between new hires, Driver Trainers, and Production Managers to ensure training milestones are met.

Coaching & Retention Support

  • Conduct 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins with new drivers.
  • Partner with Driver Trainers and Supervisors to monitor early performance and retention.
  • Support engagement and recognition activities that improve loyalty and reduce turnover.

Partnership & Reporting

  • Report regularly on time-to-fill, staffing ratios, training completion, and turnover.
  • Work with operations to align hiring with yardage and production needs.
  • Recommend improvements to referral, retention, and recognition programs.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of recruiting, HR, or transportation/logistics experience.
  • Experience recruiting or onboarding CDL drivers preferred.
  • Exposure to ready-mix, trucking, or construction materials industry strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA regulations and driver qualification standards.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally as needed to support multi-site operations (approximately 20% of the time).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
