The EHS Intern is an introductory role in the industry designed for individuals participating in an internship as part of their college or university program, offering an opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the construction industry. The intern will work under the supervision of an EHS Coordinator, Senior EHS Coordinator, Assistant EHS Manager, EHS Manager, or Senior EHS Manager. They will provide safety support and technical assistance to project teams while learning to identify and mitigate construction and environmental hazards. They will assist in identifying and assessing EHS risks during different phases of the project and maintain important safety documentation, such as incident reports and training records. This role requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to be an excellent role model for both Skanska and subcontractor personnel.
EHS Intern Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic phases of construction projects;
- Computer skills (MS Office, HCSS, CGC, etc);
- Ability to perform all work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner while effectively communicating and interacting with customers, clients, subcontractors, and other third parties;
- Ability to present information in a clear and understandable manner in both written and verbal form;
- Working towards a bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent through experience
Qualified candidates, excluding current Skanska employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (U.S. citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
