Join our team as a Building Maintenance Engineer, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our facilities. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing repairs to create a seamless and efficient environment. Your expertise will contribute to a well-maintained building that supports the needs of our occupants and enhances their experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
- Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and building infrastructure.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor and manage building automation systems to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, monitor equipment performance and document building information.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and order parts as needed.
- Participate in energy management and sustainability initiatives.
- Inspect and maintain safety equipment and coordinate inspections such as fire alarms and extinguishers.
- Collaborate with property management to plan and execute building improvements.
- Conduct regular assessments of building conditions and report findings to management.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with building automation systems and energy management.
- Ability to conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work on-call hours and respond to emergencies.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Certification in EPA, HVAC, or other relevant credentials is a plus
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects.
