Project Overview:
Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States
As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team of contractors engineering and building the facility. The project is in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will perform administrative duties that require proficiency, accuracy, judgement, initiative, discretion, and knowledge of protocol. You will handle both routine and complicated items, such as coordinating travel, preparing expense reports, and composing correspondence. Your ability to anticipate problems and changing priorities will help bring efficiency and organization to your team. #LI-NP1
Major Responsibilities:
- Assists executive management with a broad scope of administrative duties; Keeps abreast of key issues, commitments and priorities of the executive and the company
- Independently anticipates problems and changing priorities and changes priorities accordingly while exercising judgment in resolution
- Completes business independently, or refers to other staff, forwards the most important to the senior manager, and follows up to ensure action
- Acts as a liaison between executive and senior management and staff in coordinating internal company business affairs
- Often researches information and compiles summary reports
- Reviews for accuracy and format documents that require the senior manager's signature
- Determines action on important or emergency matters or knows the person to contact in the executive’s absence
- Maintains a file of important matters for the executive’s attention upon return; Independently schedules and reschedules appointments on the basis of senior manager's commitments and priorities
- Schedules meetings, including Committee and Board meetings, and coordinates complex, often confidential materials; Compiles and distributes conference notes and meeting minutes, and the action items that result from the conferences and meetings
- Coordinates complex travel arrangements and travel itineraries; Prepares detailed expense reports using Concur or other expense report software, as appropriate
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a minimum of 6+ years of related experience
- Associate degree or related technical training preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Working knowledge of Sharepoint.
- Working knowledge of Visio.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills; detail oriented.
- Experience interfacing with executive management and customers.
- Professional demeanor.
- Able to handle highly confidential information.
- Must be able to work independently.
- May be needed to work overtime with little or no notice.
- Working knowledge of Concur.
- Working knowledge of Digital Supply Chain System (DSCS) for material requisitions.
- Previous Bechtel experience in similar position preferred.
- Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces.
- Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
- Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
